An asexual and pansexual become room-mates and have wacky adventures

The show is called ‘All or Nothing’

Well, well, well…

10 years of All or Nothing.

I made this post when I was 20 years old and there was basically no asexual/pansexual rep in media.

I’m 30 years old now and…well, there still isn’t a lot, but at least we have Todd on Bojack Horseman and that guy from Schitt’s Creek?

A lot has changed in the past 10 years, both in the world and within myself. Looking back on the anxious, self-criticising barely-adult that I was back then really helps to put things into perspective.

Despite the Everything that’s happened with this post, I’m still glad it’s around and that it’s circulating - a little slice of classic 2014 tumblr nostalgia.

To everyone who has gotten something positive out of this post - I’m glad I was able to brighten even a small part of your lives, even for a moment.

To everyone who’s amazed I’m still here - Same, honestly. Please keep adding such comments though, each other gives me more power so that I may one day ascend from this mortal shell.

To everyone who’s left unnecessary negativity on the post - Okay 👍

And to everyone who may be wondering ‘how does one celebrate the anniversary of such a momentous part of history?’

In the most asexual way possible:

Happy All or Nothing, y'all.

drives me up a wall living in a very very red district, like “no democrat is ever going to win any local election, let alone a real leftist” district, like “our school board members ran on who was the most anti-mask” red, like “I pass white supremacist signs on the way to buy weed” red

and being in the local leftist community and the guy who runs the anarchist book club and the lady who helps keep the warming shelters open and the people who marched on city hall when a local business was getting death threats for having a drag show are all members of a discord and we get on this discord and have frank discussions about how best to vote

the people who do the protests and the mutual aid and all the real work

going “okay, they’re both fascists, but this one lacks ambition and seems happy to just glide in the position” or “they both suck, but this one can be reasoned with if you frame it patriotically enough” like we don’t even have a democrat to vote for. we know what a vote is. we know what we hope accomplish with it. we know what it can do, and we know what it can’t.

and going from those discussions to here where people think that your vote is some kind of fucking??? enabling maneuver??? as if someone isn’t going to end up in that seat regardless of what you do???

we didn’t build this system, we just live in it. we’re just trying to survive. a vote isn’t a statement of your values, it’s not an endorsement, it’s not a marriage contract, it’s a strategic play you make to keep alive.

the biggest mistake I see leftists making is overestimating their own popularity. “well but everyone would be leftist if they just-“ no, stop, 1) you can’t possibly know that 2) everyone will not just

My district is fucking gerrymandered and not likely to be redrawn any time soon. The best we can do here is to pressure for the most moderate republican we can find.

My rep works in the part of congress that deals with healthcare. At a townhall a few years ago, I was the last person to speak my issue. I told the guy that I’m too disabled to work to support myself but not disabled enough to get assistance. If the ACA were overturned, my life would go to shit. I would no long be able to access the meds that make my life bearable.

I told him the major symptoms of fibromyalgia. He looked suddenly sickened and his voice lowered. He said they thought that’s what was wrong with his wife. She’d been sick a long time, gone through all the appointments, and was finally getting into a specialist.

Showing up and doing the work matters. Another woman at that townhall had MS and our rep stayed to hear her story. A group of vets then were able to bring up their issues with the VA.

I can’t deal with anyone posting shit about how it’s cool if less privileged people lose their rights and access to support systems as long as they get to maintain their ideological purity. Especially, if they aren’t watching the game.

This.

If your so-called “Leftist” ideological purity ends up resulting in marginalized and vulnerable suffering the same cruelty as they would under a fascist regime, can you really call yourself a “leftist”?
